This project involved the creation of a website with e-commerce facilities to allow customers to buy products online. The House of Cheese is a well established retailer and wholesaler and this was their first venture into Internet business. I was given a broad brief by the client to oversee the whole project from design and development, through to the hosting and promotion of the site. During the design and development of the site the client was consulted regularly for feedback and suggestions, mainly via email. After a slow start while we worked at promotion the site has now grown to account for a substantial proportion of the business turnover and has been particularly busy over Christmas periods. It has been featured in leading UK magazines and newspapers. Before leaving the UK I acted as a webmaster for the site carrying out periodic maintenance and updating. I then provided training to allow the client to take over the day to day running of the site.
