Free professional photos! Great! Hang on, what's the catch? Yes, there is one!
Time for CD, or TFCD, is a barter system where both parties benefit from working together to create images that are mutually useful without any fees either way. Typically TFCD shoots are useful for models and actors who want to build or refresh their portfolio without paying for professional photography. They can also appeal to anyone who wants some great photos for "free".
Photographers may also use TFCD to enhance their portfolios and experiment with new ideas. In my case I am often prepared to shoot on a TFCD basis if I feel the shoot may potentially produce useful stock images.
Stock photographs are existing images that are available for publication. My stock images are available to licence through several agencies. Please see the stock photography page for links.
The "catch" therefore is that you must be happy with the possibility that images from the shoot may used for publication in some form. I require a model/property release form to be signed agreeing to the potential future use and publication of images from the shoot.
